How long does it take to ship?

The below shipping times are true unless otherwise stated in the product description for backorders or pre-release sales. 


Free shipping delivers in 3 - 5 business days in contiguous states. 

Orders placed Monday - Thursday are processed within 24 hours.

Orders placed on Friday, Saturday or Sunday will be processed the following Monday. 


FedEx 2-day delivers in 2 business days.  

Orders placed before 12pm Monday - Friday are shipped the same day. 

Orders placed after 12pm are shipped the next day.

Orders placed after 12pm Friday will ship the following Monday for a Wednesday delivery. 

 

What are your blankets made of?

At Sackcloth & Ashes we believe that how our blankets are made is as important as the giveback attached to it.  


Our Italian made blankets are created with 75-100% recycled materials. This is a fact that we could not be more proud of. What was once scraps on a factory floor, or an old textile destined for the landfill, we have partnered with weaving mills to repurpose what was old and make it new again. This process is as ethical and eco friendly as it gets. No water is used during the carding process and no dye touches our yarns, therefore sparing the rivers and waterways from harsh chemical runoff. Our Italian blankets are created from wool and cotton blends with the singular goal of softness and durability. We hope that you love them as much as we do.  


Are your blankets ethically sourced? 

At Sackcloth and Ashes we consider it our responsibility to ensure that the items that we sell are leaving a positive impact on the lives and communities they come in contact with. Therefore, our blankets are made with recycled fabrics, eco-dyes, in healthy environments and our wool is always mulesing free.

How do I wash my blankets?

What type of blanket do you donate to shelters?

Most shelters have to wash blankets every night to prevent bed bugs so we donate a twin size fleece to high volume / high turnover shelters. We donate a cotton or wool blend blanket to programs where guests are there longer term.


Where is my donation blanket going?

We donate based on the zip code of the shipping address. We partner with over 600 shelters/programs in the United States. All international donation blankets are sent to shelters in the United States in most need. Email mandy@sackclothandashes.com if you’d like to know the exact shelter you helped. 


What's your return policy?

We are happy to accept returns/exchanges within 30 days of the purchase date. In order to qualify for a refund or exchange your item must meet the following criteria.It must be unused, unwashed, free of pet odor/dander, stains, holes, snags, etc. We do a thorough inspection of all returned items and reserve the right to refuse any return or exchange if the product does not meet our standards.


If the returned product is confirmed to be in perfect condition we will process your refund or exchange.


We do not provide return shipping labels for returns or exchanges. If you are exchanging the item we will cover the postage of getting the new item to your address once the return has been received.


If you have any questions or would like to return/exchange your product, please email info@sackclothandashes.com. In your email please provide your name, order number, and the reason for your return or exchange. Failure to provide this information will result in a processing delay.


Do you ship internationally?

Yes we do! Priority shipping delivers in 2-3 days, Economy shipping delivers in 4-5 days.


Please keep in mind you are solely responsible for all customs fees, duties and taxes.


Customs fees and duties are an additional charge levied on items that are being imported into your country. These fees are determined by your government and are usually a percentage of your parcel value. Typically, when you ship a package from overseas, any package that has a value greater than a certain amount may be subject to customs fees and duties.


Customs fees and duties differ from country to country. These fees are not disclosed to us beforehand, so we have no way of estimating in advance how much your customs fees might be. Therefore Sackcloth & Ashes will not accept any responsibility for your country's applied fees.


In addition to customs fees, some countries may also charge additional taxes, depending on the item and parcel value, such as goods and services taxes (GST), value-added tax (VAT) etc. 


What do I do if my package was stolen?

We are really sorry that you experienced this theft! We offer multiple shipping abilities at checkout, including an option that requires your package to be signed for upon delivery. This service costs $5.00 and is offered to eliminate the chance of stolen packages. The recipient must be present to sign for the package, ensuring your order won't be left on your doorstep.


If you did not select this service, unfortunately, Sackcloth & Ashes is not liable for your loss. We recommend you reach out directly to the carrier that delivered your item. They should be able to help you locate the item or file a claim for reimbursement.


My tracking says delivered but I can't find it? 

If your tracking info says the package was delivered but you can’t find it, don't worry! This happens occasionally and most of the time the package turns up. We recommend you start by checking your porch, side door, driveway, behind trash cans, etc, to be sure your item wasn’t tucked out of sight by the carrier. It wouldn’t hurt to check with your neighbors or the lobby of your building as well. Please also reach out to the carrier service used for shipping your item, either FedEx or USPS (check your tracking number online to confirm carrier). Your local carrier office will be able to speak directly with the carrier that delivers to your area and hopefully help you locate the package. If you haven’t located your item within 3 days of confirmed delivery then please contact us.
